My Christmas Preperation Weekend!

This weekend we decorated our tree. Instead of buying a tree we decorated our year round tree.
We recieved 18 inches of snow this weekend. The picture of Gully is taking during the storm at Indian Brook. He found a mole in the snow bank and decided to play with it. The tree is probably one of the best decorated trees in the area!

A friend showed me this awesome picture...

Julie Smith captured this stunning photo from 28,000' of the shadow cast by Mt. Everest at 5am on 23 May 2006. She reached the summit two hours later. It was her third attempt on Everest in as many years. Fiona reached the summit a little more than half an hour after her at at 7:50am. Photo by Julie Smith

Poor Casey

So Casey had her hip surgery this past Thursday. Come to find out on the operating table that she had tore her ACL as well. So poor Casey is on bed rest for the next couple of weeks.

Would not be Vermont without some barns

The images are a little blury because I was taking them out my car window driving back from NRG in Hinesburg, Vermont.(About 20 min from my house)

NRG

This is the NRG building. NRG is a company that builds wind turbine measuring equipment to determine viable locations for wind turbines. The building is LEED Gold Certified. The solar panels on the roof and on the lawn provide for 85% of the energy used to run the building. This hopefully might be a place where I work after I graduate. I was fortunate to be able to tour this building through my sustainability class.

Gully's First Swim!

So Gully took his first swim today. Up until today he has always enjoyed playing in the water, but never taking his feet off solid ground. Casey, my other furry haired roommate is suffering from a bad hip so instead of leaving her behind, Steph chooses to take her around the resevoir in a baby backpack.
